Establishing Living Trusts
Contact a Cook County Estate Planning Attorney
A “trust” is an arrangement that allows you to appoint a trustee
to hold and manage property for the benefit of another person, known as
a beneficiary. In a “living trust,” you can appoint yourself
as the primary trustee, allowing you to make decisions regarding the management
and passing of property to your beneficiaries upon your death, essentially
eliminating the need for probate court. This can make things easier for
your loved ones at the time of your passing, sparing your family of the
costs and complexities of dealing with Illinois’s probate law.
